Huijsen has been one of the standout performers in Andoni Iraola's side since he established himself in the backline in December.
The 19-year-old, who arrived from Juventus last summer, has made 16 consecutive Premier League starts having formed a strong central defensive partnership with Ilya Zabarnyi.
Huijsen was initially called up to the Spain Under-21s squad, before it was announced on Monday that he will replace the injured Inigo Martinez in the senior side.
The Dutch-born defender will hope to make his international debut in Spain's two-legged affair against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals.
