Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick identifies four potential transfer targets for the Red Devils, according to a report.

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has reportedly identified four potential transfer targets for the Red Devils, with the German pinpointing midfield as an area of weakness at the club.

Rangnick is only expected to coach the first team until the end of the 2021-22 campaign but will then take on a consultancy role, which will involve bringing new players to the club.

According to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland remains a target for the Manchester club despite suggestions from the striker's agent Mino Raiola that the Red Devils are not in the race.

The report claims that RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara, Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips have all been identified as possible additions in midfield.

Haidara is believed to have a £33m release clause in his current deal and is likely to be the most attainable target during the January transfer window.

BVB are said to be determined to keep hold of Bellingham, while Leeds would be reluctant to sell Phillips, who has also been linked with Liverpool, to their bitter rivals.

Rangnick said during a press conference on Friday afternoon that it was still "too early" to discuss the club's plans for the January transfer window. body check tags ::
