Manchester United are reportedly on the lookout for midfield targets to replace Paul Pogba in one of the upcoming transfer windows.

The 28-year-old has just over six months remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford; however, there are no signs to suggest that the Frenchman is close to agreeing a new deal.

Pogba is at risk of leaving the club for free next summer, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain believed to be interested in signing the 2018 World Cup winner.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Red Devils will target midfielders of 'international standard' but not necessarily a marquee name like Pogba, who re-joined United for a club-record £89m in 2016.

The likes of Marseille's Boubacar Kamara, Aston Villa's John McGinn, as well as RB Leipzig duo Amadou Haidara and Christopher Nkunku have all been linked with a potential move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

Pogba made a bright start to the campaign under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, registering seven assists in his first four Premier League matches; however, since then, he has failed to record a single attacking return from his next nine games in all competitions, before picking up a hamstring injury in October. body check tags ::
