Manchester United have reportedly failed with a £40m bid for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United are expected to be in the market for a new right-back this summer, with Antonio Valencia leaving on a free transfer and Ashley Young struggling for form during the 2018-19 campaign.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for Wan-Bissaka, who made 39 appearances for the Eagles last season.

According to Sky Sports News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side launched a £40m bid for the 21-year-old, but the offer was rejected with Roy Hodgson's side holding out for closer to £60m.

Wan-Bissaka, who has three years left to run on his contract at Selhurst Park, only made his first-team debut for Palace in February 2018.
