Manchester United are reportedly one of a number of clubs who are keeping tabs on Gent forward Gift Orban.

The 20-year-old has made an electric start to life with the Belgian side since joining in January, scoring 19 goals in as many matches across all competitions.

Fourteen of those goals have been scored in just 13 league appearances, helping Gent secure fifth place in the regular Belgian Pro League season.

Orban has also contributed with five goals in six Europa Conference League appearances this term, and he netted the fastest-ever hat-trick in UEFA club competition history when he scored three goals in just 205 seconds in Gent's 4-1 last-16 second-leg win over Istanbul Basaksehir.

Prior to joining Gent, the Nigerian also had plenty of joy in front goal with Norwegian side Stabaek where he found the net 19 times in 24 games last year.

According to the Evening Standard, Man United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham are among a number of clubs who have sent scouts to watch Orban this season.

The report adds that Gent are only prepared to entertain 'huge' offers for the youngster, who is under contract at the Ghelamco Arena until the summer of 2027.

Orban is also said to be happy at Gent and is keen to continue his development in the Belgian top flight before considering a move elsewhere.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag is hoping to recruit a world-class striker and a midfielder this summer if they secure Champions League football for next season.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a big-money move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who is said to be Ten Hag's leading summer target.

A summer swoop for Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani and Benfica's Goncalo Ramos has also been mooted, although the former could allegedly cost in the region of £140m.

Man United are also said to have plans for recruiting younger players for the future, with one report claiming that they are weighing up a move for Rosenborg's 16-year-old wonderkid Sverre Nypan.

A new central defender, right-back and goalkeeper are also thought to be on the transfer wishlist of the Red Devils, who currently sit fourth in the Premier League table and one point above fifth-placed Liverpool with a game in hand. body check tags ::
