Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford will both reportedly remain at Manchester United this summer despite their struggles during the 2021-22 campaign.

Rashford's future at Old Trafford has been called into question in recent months, with the England international finding it difficult to make his mark this season.

Maguire, meanwhile, has been a part of a Man United defence that has conceded 56 Premier League goals this term, and his performances in 2021-22 have been widely criticised.

Incoming head coach Erik ten Hag has allegedly already started holding meetings with the club's players, as the Dutchman puts his plans in place for next season.

Maguire and Rashford have both been linked with summer exits, but according to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the duo are set to remain at the club.

Luckhurst 'suspects' that the pair, alongside Scott McTominay, will remain at Old Trafford this summer, although Rashford will be looking to discuss his role in the side with Ten Hag.

The 24-year-old has only managed five goals and two assists in 32 appearances for the Red Devils this season, while he has struggled for action in recent weeks despite the team's lack of attacking options.

A number of clubs, including Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, are believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding the Man United academy product.

Maguire, meanwhile, has made 36 appearances in all competitions this season, but the 29-year-old has not started for the Red Devils since the 4-0 loss at Liverpool on April 19.

The England international - contracted to the club until June 2025 - is seemingly set to remain in Manchester this summer but will face a battle to keep hold of the captain's armband under Ten Hag.

There will be a number of exits at Man United in the upcoming market, with Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial among those linked with moves away.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant are all preparing to leave the club on free transfers.

Ten Hag only finished his title-winning league campaign at Ajax on Sunday, but the Dutchman has already started work at Man United, and he is expected to be handed a healthy transfer budget this summer.

Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong, Villarreal's Pau Torres, Ajax's Jurrien Timber and Benfica's Darwin Nunez are among the latest names to be linked with moves to Old Trafford.

Man United will not play Champions League football next season, with the club instead battling West Ham United for sixth position in the Premier League table, which would secure a spot in the 2022-23 Europa League.

The Red Devils are two points clear of seventh-placed West Ham, who travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, while Ralf Rangnick's team are away to Crystal Palace on the final day. body check tags ::
