Liverpool are reportedly 'being kept informed' of the developments surrounding Ruben Neves's future, as the midfielder prepares to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

The 26-year-old has again been a key player for Wolves during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 40 occasions in all competitions, contributing six goals and one assist in the process.

Neves only has little over 12 months left to run on his contract at Molineux, though, and the Portugal international is widely expected to seek pastures new during the upcoming market.

Speaking after last weekend's 1-1 draw with Everton in the Premier League, Neves admitted that he is desperate to play Champions League football at this stage of his career.

Barcelona continue to be heavily linked with the midfielder, while Arsenal and Manchester United are believed to be long-term admirers of the Portuguese.

According to Football Insider, there is also serious interest from Liverpool, with the Reds keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding the midfielder's future.

The report claims that Wolves would be prepared to sell Neves during this summer's transfer window providing that their £50m valuation is met.

The midfielder made the move to Molineux from Porto in 2017, and he has represented his current side on 252 occasions in all competitions, scoring 30 goals and registering 13 assists in the process.

Liverpool are preparing to overhaul their midfield this summer, with James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving Anfield on free transfers.

At one stage, the Reds were firmly at the head of the queue for Jude Bellingham but ultimately dropped their interest in the Borussia Dortmund midfielder due to the cost of the deal.

Liverpool will play Europa League football next season, with Man United confirming their top-four position alongside Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United with a win over Chelsea on Thursday.

"It's a fact we don't have Champions League, even I knew after [the Aston Villa] game, clear," Klopp told reporters on Friday. "I drew a line underneath it. I am optimistic but in that moment I couldn't see it.

"We've known for a long time it would not be a historic season. Since Dubai after the World Cup, the amount of points we've got since then was pretty good. If we could do that all season it would be a good one. This is not the season we wanted."

Liverpool will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they finish their campaign away to Southampton on Sunday afternoon. body check tags ::
