Leeds United could move for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis this summer, according to a report.

Leeds United are reportedly interested in a summer deal for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis.

The 20-year-old - thought at one stage to be a target for Manchester City and Manchester United - continues to be linked with a move away from his Portuguese club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Luis only made 18 appearances for Benfica during the recent season, but he was involved in their final three league matches of the campaign.

According to Calciomercato, Leeds are ready to rival AC Milan for the defensive midfielder's signature, although Benfica have placed a €40m (£36m) valuation on the Portugal Under-21 international.

The report claims that Luis's agent Jorge Mendes recently spoke with Eagles boss Jorge Jesus to determine his client's position at the club ahead of next season.

Leeds secured a return to the Premier League for the 2020-21 campaign courtesy of winning the Championship, ultimately finishing 10 points clear of second-placed West Bromwich Albion at the summit. body check tags ::
