Manchester United have announced that key forward Amad Diallo has signed a new long-term contract with the 20-time English champions, ending the recent speculation surrounding his future.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for the Red Devils during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring six goals and registering seven assists in 28 appearances, including three goals and six assists in 18 Premier League outings.

The Ivory Coast international's previous deal at Old Trafford had been due to expire this summer, meaning that as of the start of January, he had been free to speak to interested clubs over a pre-contract.

However, Man United head coach Ruben Amorim said at the end of last week that Amad was close to penning a new contract at Old Trafford, and the fresh agreement has been confirmed.

Amad's new deal will run until June 2030, and it is understood that he has received a pay rise to reflect his importance to the side.

"I am really proud to have signed this new contract. I have had some incredible moments with this club already but there is so much more to come. I have huge ambitions in the game and I want to achieve history at Manchester United," he told the club's official website.

"I have learnt so much since arriving here four years ago; I am very grateful to the coaches and staff who have helped me to develop, and to the fans for driving me forward every day.

"It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right path and the future is going to be really special. I am ready to give everything to help the team and make our supporters proud again."

Meanwhile, Man United's technical director Jason Wilcox added: "Everyone is delighted with Amad's development; his quality on the ball, versatility and determination makes him a key part of the future of Manchester United.

"The best years of his career are ahead of him, and we all look forward to helping Amad to reach his immense potential and achieve success at the club in the coming seasons."

Wilcox calls Amad "a key part" of the club's future

Amad made the move to Man United from Atalanta BC in January 2021, and he has represented the Red Devils on 49 occasions in all competitions, scoring nine goals and registering nine assists in the process.

The forward initially struggled to make his mark for the 20-time English champions, spending time out on loan with Rangers and Sunderland, but he has now become one of the first names on the teamsheet under new head coach Amorim.

Amad scored a late equaliser against Liverpool in the Premier League last time out and is currently training with his teammates ahead of Sunday's FA Cup third-round contest with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. body check tags ::
