Family of Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho key to Manchester United move?

The family of Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho may reportedly be against the playmaker making a return to England to play for Manchester United.

Manchester United have reportedly been handed a blow in their alleged attempts to sign Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian left Liverpool to make the switch to Barcelona 12 months ago, and the playmaker has made a total of 47 appearances in all competitions.

However, manager Ernesto Valverde has recently dropped Coutinho from his starting lineup, which has led to reports that United are keen to bring the 26-year-old back to the Premier League.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Coutinho has no plans to leave Camp Nou during the January window and a transfer may also not occur during the summer.

The report claims that Coutinho's partner and recently-born daughter are settled in Spain, and there is little desire to move back to England in the immediate future.
