Christian Eriksen has insisted that he will not rush a decision on his future, amid suggestions that Manchester United have offered him the chance to move to Old Trafford this summer.

The 30-year-old has allegedly decided to leave Brentford on a free transfer at the end of June, and a number of clubs are said to be keen to sign the attacker ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be keen to bring him back to the club, while it is understood that Man United have placed a contract offer on the table.

However, speaking after Denmark's UEFA Nations League contest with Austria, Eriksen has said that he will not "rush anything through" when it comes to his future.

"No (rush the decision), and they know that too," Bold.dk quotes Eriksen as saying. "There are many criteria and many different things inside such a decision. Sometimes it goes fast in football, other times a little slower. You are not in control of it yourself. I have to make the best decision and not rush anything through.

"My phone stays on, but I also know my agent well enough to know that he only calls if there's something exciting."

The Denmark international recently said that he has "different offers and options" and would "love to play Champions League football again" but competing in Europe's leading cup competition is not a necessity.

He told Viaplay: "I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision. I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn't essential for me."

Eriksen impressed in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign, scoring once and providing four assists in 11 Premier League appearances for the Bees, having joined the club in January.

Having had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator device fitted after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, Eriksen left former club Inter Milan, moving to Thomas Frank's side on a free transfer.

Brentford had reportedly still been hopeful of keeping Eriksen despite naming the attacker on their released list, but he is now expected to move on this summer.

Man United will not be able to offer the Dane Champions League football next season, as they finished sixth in the 2021-22 Premier League, which will see them play in the Europa League next term.

Eriksen previously played in the Premier League for Tottenham between 2013 and 2020, making over 300 appearances for the North London club, and the capital giants are also believed to be showing an interest in him this summer.

Man United are in talks with Barcelona over Frenkie de Jong, as the club look to sign a central midfielder following the departures of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic on free transfers.

However, the club are also believed to be keen to sign an attacking midfielder, as both Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard have both left the 20-time English champions on free transfers.
