Celtic, Rangers 'monitoring Jesse Lingard developments'

:Headline: Celtic, Rangers 'monitoring Jesse Lingard developments':
Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard emerges as a potential transfer target for Celtic and Rangers, according to a report.

Celtic and Rangers are both reportedly keeping a close eye on Jesse Lingard's situation at Manchester United ahead of potential approaches for the attacker.

The 27-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions but his future at Old Trafford is unclear.

Lingard's existing deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is due to expire next summer, and he has been restricted to just two EFL Cup appearances for the club this term.

According to TEAMtalk, the England international could ask United to let him leave in January unless they take up the option of extending his contract by a further 12 months.

The report claims that a number of Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on developments, but Celtic and Rangers are also interested in bringing him to Scotland in 2021.

Lingard has not even made the squad for a league match since the start of October, but he was on the bench against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week. body check tags ::
