Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr could reportedly both make offers for Manchester United midfielder Casemiro when the January transfer window opens for business.

The 31-year-old's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with Man United said to be willing to listen to offers for him during the winter market.

Casemiro excelled for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign following a move from Real Madrid, and he has scored four goals and registered one assist in 12 appearances this season.

There was criticism of the Brazil captain's defensive displays in the opening weeks of the 2023-24 campaign, though, and he is thought to be looking for a new challenge at this stage of his career.

Casemiro has been out since the start of October with a hamstring problem, but he has recently returned to training and could potentially be available over the festive period.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, there is Saudi Arabian interest in the shape of Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, with both clubs thought to be lining up offers in January.

Man United are not believed to be actively looking to get rid of the South American, but he has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2026 on enormous wages, and his departure would open up space in the budget for new players to arrive, including potentially a centre-forward.

Casemiro has netted once in eight Premier League appearances this season, while he also scored twice in his two appearances in the group stage of the Champions League.

The midfielder will again be absent against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, but he could be back before the end of December, with his involvement potentially depending on whether he is set to depart.

Man United are in a position to demand a healthy transfer fee for the Brazilian considering his standing in the game, and the length of time left on his deal at Old Trafford.

Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are both owned by the Public Investment Fund alongside Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad.

There have also been claims that Raphael Varane is wanted by Saudi Pro League officials, with the ex-France international another Man United player who could potentially be on the move at the start of 2024.

However, Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo has played down suggestions that Jadon Sancho could move to the division in January.

There had also been reports of interest from the division in Donny van de Beek, but the Netherlands international is now closing in on a loan switch from Man United to Eintracht Frankfurt. body check tags ::
