Lazio blame Man United for Mason Greenwood transfer collapse
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has claimed that a deadline-day move for Manchester United's Mason Greenwood fell through due to the Red Devils' failure to countersign.
The 21-year-old is set to resume his football career on loan with Spanish outfit Getafe for the 2023-24 season after he was given the green light to return to competitive action.
Greenwood saw all the criminal charges against him dropped earlier this year, having been due to face trial over accusations of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The Red Devils had Greenwood under contract until 2025, and following a lengthy internal investigation, the club were supposedly preparing to facilitate his return.

Arsenal ready to rip up Nicolas Pepe contract?
Arsenal are reportedly now giving serious consideration to a contract termination for former record signing Nicolas Pepe.

Pepe is now back at the Emirates following a loan spell with Ligue 1 side Nice last season, during which contributed eight goals from 28 matches during an injury-hit campaign.
With his Arsenal career seemingly unable to be revived - the 28-year-old has not made a matchday squad in the 2023-24 season so far - a move away was expected to materialise this summer.

Chelsea 'considered Hugo Lloris swoop this summer'
Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino was reportedly interested in reuniting with Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris this summer.
Following an error-strewn 2022-23 Premier League campaign in which he made a division-high four mistakes leading to a goal, Lloris's Tottenham career is coming to a close.
The former France international now has less than a year left to run on his contract in North London and has been bumped down the pecking order following the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
With Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman also battling for minutes, Lloris has been ostracised from the first-team group and is yet to make a matchday squad under Ange Postecoglou.

Jurgen Klopp hails arrival of "super-talented" Ryan Gravenberch
