Sports Mole looks at three clubs that Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix could join in January.

Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin recently hinted that Joao Felix is keen to leave the Spanish giants during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old was asked about his future at club level during a press conference to preview Portugal's World Cup quarter-final with Morocco on Saturday.

Felix insisted that he would not be making a decision on his future until after the competition has finished, but he is believed to be keen to leave in January, having allegedly seen his relationship with Atletico head coach Diego Simeone break down.

Here, Sports Mole picks out three clubs that could be in the running for the forward's signature when the winter transfer window opens for business.

Manchester United

Man United will be in the market for at least one new forward next year following Cristiano Ronaldo's recent departure, and the club are said to be long-term admirers of Felix.

The 20-time English champions were linked with the forward before he joined Atletico from Benfica in 2019, and they were again credited with an interest during the summer transfer window.

Felix has been in strong form for Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, scoring once and providing two assists in three appearances, and he starred in their last-16 victory over Switzerland.

Despite Atletico seemingly being open to a sale, it is believed that the Spanish giants would still be looking for around £80m, having invested well in excess of £100m to sign him three years ago.

Felix wants a change of scenery, and a switch to Man United could help him unlock his full potential.

Paris Saint-Germain

When players of a certain ilk become available on the transfer market, then Paris Saint-Germain, more often than not, will be in the mix for their signature, and that is again the case here.

PSG have Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as their front three, but the former is out of contract next June, while there remains uncertainty surrounding Mbappe's long-term future at the club.

Neymar is also 30 years old, so the chance to bring in a 23-year-old with world-class potential would surely be an attractive proposition for the French champions.

Felix has largely underperformed for Atletico considering his talent, only managing 33 goals and 18 assists in 129 appearances for the Red and Whites in all competitions.

However, he certainly has time on his side, and even though PSG have rejected the chance to sign Ronaldo on a free transfer, the club will be firmly in the mix for Felix next year.

Chelsea

Chelsea are another club looking to boost their attack next year, with the Blues in disappointing form before the season was halted for the World Cup.

Graham Potter's side have actually lost four of their last five matches in all competitions, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Armando Broja only have two Premier League goals between them this season.

Felix would not bring with him a guarantee of goals, but his performance against Switzerland in Portugal's last-16 affair gave an insight into what he could provide in full flow and in the right environment.

The chance to live and work in London could give Chelsea the edge over Man United if it becomes a straight fight for his signature in 2023.

However, much could depend on how the capital side perform in the coming weeks, as their recent form has seen them drop down to eighth spot in the Premier League table.
