How Arsenal could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should not spring any surprises in his starting lineup for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United at the Emirates.

The league leaders will be without Gabriel Jesus for another several weeks, while Reiss Nelson is unlikely to be back from his hamstring problem in time for the weekend either.

Mohamed Elneny (knee) and Cedric Soares (knock) are also doubtful, but the pair would have only made the bench at best, as Arteta sticks with his tried-and-tested formula.

Aaron Ramsdale made several crucial stops in the North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur before being kicked in the back by a supporter, but he was fine after the incident and will continue in between the posts.

Gabriel Magalhaes also stood out for a dominant defensive performance last weekend, and the Brazilian will link up with Ben White, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko at the back once more.

Thomas Partey was inches away from scoring a goal-of-the-season worthy volley versus Spurs and will continue in the middle with Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard, who kept up his stellar form with Arsenal's second goal in the derby.

Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli will continue to provide the threat up top alongside Bukayo Saka, who is out to become the third Arsenal player to score in three successive Premier League games against Man United after Freddie Ljungberg and Thierry Henry.

Leandro Trossard's arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion has now been confirmed, and Arsenal are optimistic that he can make his debut on Sunday, having registered the Belgian attacker before Friday's 12pm deadline.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah
