A report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be in charge of Manchester United next season as Ed Woodward intends to show faith in the under-fire Norwegian.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward reportedly intends to stand by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even if the club miss out on European football.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday and are a whopping 30 points adrift of the runaway leaders.

Of more concern to Woodward will be the five-point deficit the Red Devils have to make up on fourth-place Chelsea in the race for a Champions League spot.

Regardless of United's final league position, though, The Sun claims that Woodward will show faith in Solskjaer by keeping the Norwegian in charge and backing him financially in the summer.

The report indicates that the Glazer family are supportive of Woodward's plans, with United to continue targeting young and British players in the summer transfer window.

Next up for United is a home meeting with Burnley on Wednesday evening.
