Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job at Manchester United is reportedly safe for at least two more matches.

After a poor start to the Premier League campaign where just nine points have been recorded from eight matches, Solskjaer has come under increasing scrutiny.

There have been widespread reports regarding the future of the Norwegian, with many claiming that United must improve their results in their next top-flight outings against Liverpool and Norwich City respectively.

However, according to The Times, Solskjaer has been reassured that he will not be sacked if United suffer a one-sided defeat to Liverpool on October 20.

The report adds that meetings have taken place to discuss potential transfer targets going forward as United look to strengthen in numerous areas of the pitch.

The North-West giants will head into the next weekend of top-flight action sitting just two points clear of the relegation zone.
