Zinedine Zidane 'still considering Manchester United offer'

By , Football League Correspondent | 6d
Zinedine Zidane is contemplating whether to succeed Jose Mourinho as Manchester United's next permanent manager, according to a report.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly still considering an offer to become Manchester United's next permanent manager.

The 46-year-old has been out of work since leaving the Bernabeu at the end of last season after successfully retaining the Champions League for a second time.

Zidane, along with Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino, is believed to be at the top of United's wishlist to succeed Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford following the Portuguese's sacking earlier this week.

Spanish outlet AS suggests that the Frenchman intends to take up a job in the Premier League at some point, but is still undecided whether the managerial position at United is right for him.

As well as having ambitions to manage in the English top flight, Zidane is also said to have an eye on the Juventus and France jobs, which are currently held by Massimiliano Allegri and Didier Deschamps.

The Red Devils have put former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is caretaker charge until next summer.
