Report: Jose Mourinho lack of interest to blame for Yerry Mina Everton move

Yerry Mina chose Everton over Manchester United partly because Jose Mourinho did not make the former Barcelona defender feel wanted, according to a report.

Yerry Mina chose Everton over Manchester United partly because Jose Mourinho did not make the defender feel wanted, a report has suggested.

The Colombia international was rumoured to be a primary summer transfer target for the Red Devils but ended up leaving Barcelona to join the Toffees instead.

According to The Sun, Mina had three reasons to pick Goodison Park over Old Trafford, the first being a lack of contact by Mourinho.

The second is believed to have been the belief that United were actively pursuing other central defensive targets ahead of Mina, making him feel unwanted by the Portuguese coach.

Furthermore, a call by Everton boss Marco Silva to Mina in hope of convincing the 23-year-old to join the Merseyside club is thought to have sealed the deal for the player.

Mina has yet to make his Toffees debut due to injury.
