Ander Herrera: 'Marcos Rojo one of world's best'

Ander Herrera brands his Manchester United teammate Marcos Rojo one of the best central defenders in the world following his comeback from injury.

Ander Herrera has branded his Manchester United teammate Marcos Rojo one of the best central defenders in the world following his comeback from injury.

In the last campaign, the Argentine suffered a season-ending injury in the Red Devils' Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht in April, having previously been a regular starter for Jose Mourinho.

The 27-year-old made his league return in United's 4-2 win over Watford this week, and his comeback has drawn praise from midfielder Herrera.

"Last season, when he got injured, I told him that he was in the top five central defenders in the world because his play was outstanding and he was in amazing form," he told the club's official website.

"I felt so sorry for him because he got injured in what was the best moment of his career.

"He has been focused on being back and being as fit as possible, so I'm very, very happy for him.

"Now, he has to be careful because when you have a knee injury, you have to be careful with the rest of your body, but he's doing amazing."

United take on Arsenal tomorrow, looking to close the eight-point gap to leaders Manchester City.
