Eric Bailly pays tribute to Anthony Martial

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly hails Anthony Martial after the Frenchman came off the bench to score the winner in Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has hailed Anthony Martial after the Frenchman came off the bench to score the winner in Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

Martial replaced Marcus Rashford in the 70th minute of the contest, and scored the decisive goal in the 81st after racing onto a Romelu Lukaku header before finishing into the back of the net.

Martial has now scored four Premier League goals off the bench this season, and Bailly has hailed his teammate's mentality when it comes to contributing in the latter stages of matches.

"I think we have a lot of very good players in the squad. When one does not play, the others do. The good thing about Anthony is that he is always here to help the team whenever he is needed and he showed that," Bailly told reporters.

"When Rashford plays, Anthony always has that mentality where he is ready to come on and have an impact - which he did by winning the match. Anthony, mentally, is strong and he showed that today (Saturday). He is happy and whenever he has a chance he takes it."

United will look to secure qualification for the knockout round of the Champions League when they host Benfica on Tuesday night.
