Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Brentford.
Sports Mole

Manchester United will be aiming to bounce back from successive home defeats when they welcome Brentford to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils suffered a 1-0 home loss to Crystal Palace in the league last weekend, making it four defeats from their opening seven matches of the campaign to leave them in 10th position in the table.

Erik ten Hag's side also lost 3-2 to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday, meaning that they are already playing serious catch-up in Group A, sitting bottom of the section on zero points.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Brentford, who are winless in their last five games in all competitions.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Shaw suffered a muscular problem in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season, and the England international is not expected to be back on the field until next month.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Back-up left-back Malacia is also still on the sidelines due to a muscular problem, with the Netherlands international not expected to return until next month.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Martinez has undergone a second operation on a foot injury which he initially suffered in April, and he will therefore be out for the next two to three months.

Amad Diallo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Amad is still unavailable for selection due to a knee injury that he picked up during pre-season, with the Ivory Coast international likely to be missing for another six weeks or so.

Kobbie Mainoo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: October 7 (vs. Brentford)

Mainoo has been out due to an ankle problem that he suffered during pre-season, but he trained ahead of the Galatasaray match and has an outside chance of being back in the squad here.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Wan-Bissaka is another defender currently on the sidelines with a muscular problem, and the right-back is expected to be missing until November.

Sergio Reguilon

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 7 (vs. Brentford)

Reguilon has missed Man United's last three matches due to a hamstring issue, but there is a chance that he could be back in the squad for this contest.

MANCHESTER UNITED SUSPENSION LIST

Jadon Sancho is still training away from the first team due to his high-profile falling-out with Ten Hag, so the Englishman, who is being heavily linked with a January exit, will again miss out here.
