Martial and Lingard sidelined for at least two weeks

By David Charlesworth, | 4d
Duo suffered problems during the Champions League defeat to Paris St Germain.

Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial are set to be sidelined for at least a fortnight following their respective injuries in Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Paris St Germain in midweek.

Lingard was withdrawn shortly before the interval in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 fixture because of a hamstring issue while Martial did not reappear for the second half due to a groin complaint.

United went on to concede twice in the pair's absence as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suffered his first defeat as the club's interim manager.

And the Norwegian expects both Lingard and Martial to miss the FA Cup fifth-round encounter at Chelsea on Monday evening as well as the Premier League clash against title challengers Liverpool at Old Trafford next weekend.

He said: "I think they'll be out for two to three weeks, looking at it now."
