How Chelsea could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up in Saturday's FA Cup final showdown with Manchester United at Wembley.

Chelsea have a chance to rescue their season this weekend when facing Manchester United in the 2018 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Twelve months on from losing to Arsenal in the showpiece event, the Blues must put a disappointing campaign to one side in what could be Antonio Conte's final match in charge.

The seven-time winners of the competition, who beat top-flight strugglers Southampton 2-0 in last month's semi-final, last lifted the cup in 2012.

Ahead of Saturday's huge showdown at the national stadium, Sports Mole predicts how Conte may line up his side.

Out: David Luiz, Ethan Ampadu, Danny Drinkwater

There is little to suggest that Conte will go with anything other than his familiar three-at-the-back system, which now includes Gary Cahill - and not Andreas Christensen - in the heart of the backline.

The biggest call for the Italian to make is whether to go with Alvaro Morata or Olivier Giroud up top, with the latter doing more to justify his selection since arriving at Stamford Bridge midway through the season.

Eden Hazard is certain to be used just off likely starter Giroud, while Willian will also feel that he is worthy of a place in the side for this final game of the campaign, unless Conte opts to pack out central midfield.

Like opponents United, who will bring in David de Gea for Sergio Romero, Chelsea appear likely to turn to regular stopper Thibaut Courtois on Saturday, despite Willy Caballero being used in four previous FA Cup ties, including the semi-final win against Southampton.
