Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo has scored his first goal for Manchester United.

The 30-year-old completed a move to Old Trafford at the end of January and is due to spend the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign on loan at the club from Shanghai Shenhua.

Ighalo had featured off the bench against Chelsea, Club Brugge and Watford before making his first start against Brugge in the second leg of their last-32 Europa League contest on Thursday night.

The centre-forward got off the mark for his new club in the 34th minute when he tapped a low Juan Mata cross past former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet into the back of the net.

Anthony Martial's injury blow had opened the door for the former Watford striker to feature, and he added to Bruno Fernandes's penalty to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side a 2-0 advantage.

Scott McTominay - back in the side following a knee problem - then scored a third in the 41st minute to hand the home side a 4-1 aggregate lead at the interval of the last-32 contest.
