England boss Gareth Southgate is reportedly not considering including Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho in his squad for this summer's European Championship.

Sancho hit the headlines when he put in a brilliant performance for Borussia Dortmund in the German outfit's 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final last week.

There have since been suggestions that Southgate could include the forward in his selection for Euro 2024, as it has been revealed by UEFA that the squad size for the tournament has been increased from 23 to 26.

However, according to The Mirror, despite the attacker's strong performance against PSG, Southgate is not planning to bring him into the fold for the European Championship.

The report claims that his display 'came too late', with Southgate not willing to spring any major surprises at this stage of the national team's preparations for the tournament in Germany.

Jadon Sancho set to miss out on England spot for Euro 2024

Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Jarrod Bowen, Marcus Rashford and Cole Palmer are among the players ahead of Sancho when it comes to the pecking order for the wide positions in the England squad.

Sancho has not turned out for England since 2021, with his struggles at Man United making it difficult for Southgate to select him in the squad.

The 24-year-old made a big-money move from Dortmund to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021, but he has only managed to score 12 goals and contribute six assists in 82 matches for the Red Devils.

Sancho enjoyed a strong pre-season last summer, leading to claims that he would start the 2023-24 campaign in Erik ten Hag's first XI at Man United.

However, the ex-Manchester City youngster was only a substitute for his side's first three matches of the season before his high-profile fall-out with Ten Hag.

Jadon Sancho's club future is unclear

The Red Devils head coach claimed that he left Sancho out of the squad against Arsenal at the start of September due to some poor performances on the training ground.

However, the forward insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat", and he refused to apologise for effectively calling his manager a liar.

Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan during the January transfer market, and BVB would like to re-sign him on a permanent basis this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga outfit can come up with the funds to purchase the attacker, with his Old Trafford career seemingly over under Ten Hag.

However, a change of manager at Man United this summer could potentially lead to Sancho returning to the set-up during the 2024-25 campaign. body check tags ::
