Manchester United 'will spend big this summer even if they miss out on Champions League spot'

Manchester United will spend heavily this summer even if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly spend heavily during this summer's transfer window even if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

The Red Devils are currently fourth in the Premier League table, four points ahead of fifth-placed West Ham United, but Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur all have games in hand on Ralf Rangnick's side and are firmly in the battle for a top-four spot.

The 20-time English champions would also qualify for next season's Champions League if they manage to win the European competition this season.

However, according to ESPN, Man United's summer activity does not depend on whether they are in the tournament next term, with the club preparing to spend big regardless.

Tottenham's Harry Kane and West Ham's Declan Rice are both believed to be targets for Man United ahead of this summer's transfer window.

However, Spurs would allegedly want at least £100m for Kane, while West Ham are believed to have increased their asking price for Rice to £120m due to the growing interest in his services.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino remains the favourite to take charge of the Red Devils next term, but Ajax's Erik ten Hag and Spain's Luis Enrique are also said to be in the picture. body check tags ::
