Manchester City are reportedly weighing up a future move for Brazilian attacker Savio from fellow City Football Group (CFG) side Troyes.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at La Liga high-flyers Girona – another member of CFG – where he has made a notable impression this season, scoring four goals and registering four assists in 13 league appearances.

Savio – also known as Savinho – has been one of Girona's standout performers, helping the Spanish side climb above Real Madrid and reigning champions Barcelona to the top of the La Liga table.

The teenager began his career in his native Brazil with Atletico Mineiro before moving to Troyes for a reported £5.5m in June 2022, but he is yet to make a single appearance for the French club after spending last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, where he made just eight first-team appearances.

Savio is now enjoying his first-team role at Girona, though, and he is understood to have caught the eye of treble winners Man City.

According to 90min, Pep Guardiola's side are keeping a close eye on Savio's progress with Girona as they weigh up a possible future move for the starlet.

The report adds that any potential move for Savio to the Etihad Stadium would be 'straightforward' considering Man City's relationship with sister clubs Girona and Troyes.

Earlier this month, Savio admitted that Man City 'will want him' in the future if he continues to perform well at Girona.

"The City Group is a very good project," Savio told Marca. "I was at PSV, now in Girona. At PSV I didn't play as much, but I learned a lot.

"I have to thank PSV for opening the doors to me, because the things I learned there have helped me be well at Girona today.

"I'm so happy at Girona, this is perfect place. The City Group's project is first class, and I think that if I do well, Manchester City will want me."

Savio will see his current loan deal at Girona expire at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, but Man City CEO Ferran Soriano has suggested that the winger could extend his stay with the Spanish side.

"Savinho will stay in Girona until the end of the season and I think for more seasons," Soriano told RAC1, via Mundo Deportivo. "He was a player who was on loan at PSV and barely played. He won't move from here.

"There are two players on loan, Yan Couto and Savinho, but there is no direct help. What there is is mental and institutional support, we give them tranquillity and stability."

Man City could look to step up their pursuit of Savio next summer if they decide to part ways with Bernardo Silva, who has reiterated his desire to return to boyhood club Benfica before he retires. body check tags ::
