Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester City.

The Turkey international joined Leicester from Freiburg in August 2018, but the centre-back only made six Premier League appearances for the Foxes last season.

The sale of Harry Maguire to Manchester United during the summer has opened the door for Soyuncu to feature this term, though, and the 23-year-old has impressed at the heart of the Leicester defence.

According to Fotospor, the Turk has emerged as a leading target for the Premier League champions, who are expected to enter the January market for a new central defender.

The report claims that City are keen to open talks with Soyuncu's representatives as soon as possible, although any move might have to wait until next summer's transfer window.

Pep Guardiola's side are currently struggling at the back with John Stones joining Aymeric Laporte on the sidelines, meaning that Nicolas Otamendi is currently the team's only fit first-team central defender.
