Kevin De Bruyne open to penning new Manchester City contract

:Headline: Kevin De Bruyne open to penning new Manchester City contract:
Reports had suggested the Belgian playmaker was close to extending his stay in Manchester.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is open to signing a new contract at the club.

The Belgium international, who will be in the side to play England at Wembley on Sunday, has been a key part of City's success over the last few years and has won a host of club honours and individual awards.

He has two-and-a-half years to run on his current deal and reports suggest he is poised to extend that.

City have also been linked with Lionel Messi next season, should the Argentinian move on from Barcelona.

City are an obvious choice given Pep Guardiola is their manager, but De Bruyne is nonplussed about the speculation.

"I don't really care to be honest," he added. "If he comes it's a good thing, if he doesn't there is enough good players at the club who I enjoy playing with, so that is not for now."
