Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Cardiff City

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with relegation-threatened Cardiff City.
By , Editor | 4d

Manchester City could take another step towards defending their Premier League title on Wednesday when they face relegation-threatened Cardiff City at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool's dramatic late victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday saw the Reds move back above the champions at the top of the table, but Man City's game in hand still gives them the edge in a title race which looks set to go down to the wire.

Pep Guardiola's side go into the midweek match having won each of their last 12 outings across all competitions and know that if they maintain their recent 100% record until the end of the season then the title will be theirs.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

MAN CITY'S INJURY LIST

Sergio Aguero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: April 6 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Sergio Aguero picked up a muscle injury which forced him off shortly before the hour mark against Fulham on Saturday and has subsequently been ruled out of Wednesday's match. The injury is not thought to be serious, though, and the Argentine is expected to return either on Saturday or in time for next week's Champions League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Benjamin Mendy

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 3 (vs. Fulham)

Benjamin Mendy is now back in training after his recent knee troubles and could feature in midweek, although he is unlikely to be thrown straight back into the starting lineup.

Fabian Delph

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Fabian Delph missed the recent international break after picking up a knock and no date has yet been put on his return, although he is unlikely to be fit in time for Wednesday.

Vincent Kompany

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: April 3 (vs. Cardiff)

Vincent Kompany has missed the last three games due to a muscular injury, but he is expected to be available in midweek.

Claudio Bravo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: Unknown

Claudio Bravo remains a long-term injury absentee, having picked up an Achilles problem in August.

MAN CITY SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
