Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero's record vs. West Ham United

By , Senior Reporter | 3d
Sports Mole looks at Sergio Aguero's goalscoring record against West Ham United ahead of Wednesday's meeting between the sides at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero can become the first player in history to score three successive hat-tricks in Premier League home matches when Manchester City play host to West Ham United on Wednesday evening.

The Argentinian striker struck three times in the 3-1 win against Arsenal on February 3 and then did likewise a week later in the 6-0 thrashing of Chelsea.

Aguero has now scored 25 goals in his last 16 starts for City at the Etihad Stadium and has ended on the winning side in each of his last 23 league starts on home soil, scoring 29 times and assisting seven more.

Ahead of the midweek visit of West Ham, Sports Mole looks at how Aguero has performed against the Hammers down the years.

Aguero boasts a goal-every-other-game record in Premier League meetings with West Ham, scoring six times in 12 matches.

However, the Citizens' leading all-time scorer has not scored in four league encounters with United since netting a brace in January 2016's 2-2 draw at Upton Park.

The 30-year-old scored when the sides met in the third round of the FA Cup two seasons ago, though, and he was also on target in his only other previous cup encounter with West Ham in the 2013-14 EFL Cup semi-final.

In 14 meetings with this week's opponents in all competitions, Aguero has been on the winning side 10 times and tasted defeat only twice.
