Nat Phillips confirms desire to leave Liverpool

Defender Nat Phillips confirms that he is interested in departing Liverpool during the January transfer window.
Sports Mole

Nat Phillips has acknowledged that he is ready to leave Liverpool in January after barely featuring during the opening half of the campaign.

The centre-back starred as the Merseyside giants beat AC Milan at San Siro earlier this month in a game where he also sustained a fractured cheekbone.

However, the injury is only expected to keep him out until the back end of January, ensuring that clubs remain interested in his signature.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the 24-year-old has revealed that Jurgen Klopp has agreed that he requires more minutes from next month onwards.

Phillips said: "I want to be playing games. It's been tough because the competition to get in this team is fierce. The manager and I agree that the best thing for me is to play as many games as possible. I think you saw last year I developed well.

"I'm going to see what comes along and go from there. I think at this moment in time it's unlikely that I'll be playing lots of games for Liverpool, so if an opportunity arises where I get the chance to do that somewhere else and it suits everyone then it's certainly something I'd be interested in."

West Ham United are among a number of Premier League teams who have been monitoring the situation. body check tags ::
