Manchester City are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku, according to a report.

The 23-year-old scored a Champions League hat-trick against the Citizens when the German outfit lost 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month.

Nkunku is believed to have caught the eye of Pep Guardiola and according to Fichajes, the Premier League champions, along with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, have all identified the attacking midfielder as a potential target for one of the upcoming transfer windows.

The Frenchman, who has also been linked with Liverpool, still has three years remaining on his contract with Leipzig, who are under no pressure to sell one of their star players.

Nkunku came through the ranks at Ligue 1 giants PSG and featured 78 times for their senior side before joining Leipzig in July 2019.

After scoring seven goals an providing 11 assist in 40 appearances for the Bundesliga club last season, Nkunku has since made a bright start to the new campaign, contributing to nine goals in just eight appearances across all competitions. body check tags ::
