Liverpool are reportedly prepared to sell back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

The 24-year-old moved through the youth ranks at Liverpool before displacing Adrian as the club's number two goalkeeper.

However, he has been unable to force his way into the first team, and there is no immediate indication that he will be able to move ahead of first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

As a result of Alisson's tight grip on the number one jersey, Kelleher has had to settle for just four Premier League appearances in his Liverpool career.

Kelleher is also yet to appear in the top-flight this season, with his three appearances during the current campaign taking place across the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.

With Kelleher playing a supporting role, he could look to leave the club in the near future in a bid to gain more playing time.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are willing to entertain the idea of a sale if the Republic of Ireland international indicates that he wants to leave the club.

While the Reds believe that it would be fair to allow Kelleher to experience more first-team football, they would rather keep the 24-year-old.

Kelleher helps Liverpool fill one place in their home-grown quota, and he is still viewed as an important part of the Liverpool squad.

With his contract set to run until June 2026, Liverpool may demand a considerable fee for their second-choice goalkeeper.

Although Kelleher has kept 10 clean sheets in his 20 competitive appearances for the Merseyside club, his most notable moment in a Liverpool shirt took place with the ball at his feet.

Kelleher scored the decisive spot kick to win the penalty shootout in last season's EFL Cup final against Chelsea.

After losing 3-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, Liverpool are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table, and they will now prepare for a derby meeting with local rivals Everton. body check tags ::
