Liverpool reportedly identify Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz as an alternative option to fellow alleged target Isco, who is expected to leave Real Madrid.

Liverpool are reportedly contemplating a summer move for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

Earlier on Thursday, the Merseyside giants were credited with an interest in Isco, who is likely to leave Real Madrid at some point during 2020.

However, El Desmarque suggests that Jurgen Klopp is keeping his options open as he considers strengthening his squad during the summer.

Despite Isco expected to cost in the region of £59m, the report claims that Liverpool would have to pay a higher fee for Ruiz.

During his 18-month stint in Naples, the 23-year-old has contributed eight goals from 66 outings in all competitions, which includes four appearances against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Napoli may decide to cash in on the playmaker should they miss out on next season's Champions League.
