Brighton & Hove Albion 'in pole position to sign Adam Lallana'

:Headline: Brighton & Hove Albion 'in pole position to sign Adam Lallana':
Brighton & Hove Albion lead the race to sign Adam Lallana on a free transfer from Liverpool, according to a report.

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly leading the race to sign Adam Lallana on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old is leaving Liverpool after six years at the club, with his contract at Anfield due to expire following Sunday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

A number of teams have been credited with an interest in the Englishman, who has scored once and provided one assist in 15 Premier League appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side this term.

However, according to The Independent, Brighton, who finish their season at Burnley on Sunday, are in pole position to sign the attacker on a free transfer.

The report claims that the Seagulls want Lallana to play a key role in 'furthering their tactical development', with Graham Potter's side set to make him 'a leader at the club'.

Lallana's preference is allegedly to return to the South Coast, meanwhile, having made the breakthrough at Southampton before arriving for Liverpool.

The attacker has scored 22 goals and registered 22 assists in 178 outings for the Reds.
