Aston Villa 'turn attention to Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo'

Aston Villa reportedly identify Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo as a possible transfer target, after Everton's Yannick Bolasie turned down a move to the Championship.

Aston Villa have reportedly identified Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo as a possible alternative to Yannick Bolasie.

Villa are in the market for a new attacker this summer and had been strongly linked with a loan move for Everton's Bolasie following a much-needed cash injection.

However, Bolasie is understood to have rejected a drop down to the Championship, and the Birmingham Mail reports that Villa have now turned their attention to Ojo.

The 21-year-old is available for a loan move away from Anfield this summer, and has experience of the second tier having spent temporary spells at Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham in recent years.

A number of other clubs are understood to be interested in Ojo, and Villa have now joined that race as they look to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Steve Bruce's side were linked with Liverpool duo Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn earlier this summer, only to miss out on both to Championship rivals.
