Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool will be hoping to keep one hand on their crown when they welcome Manchester City to Anfield in the pick of the fixtures on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp's men appeared to be heading in the right direction with dominant wins over West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, but a dismal 1-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion has further hampered their chances of back-to-back titles.

The fourth-placed Reds are winless in four and without a goal in three Premier League matches at Anfield, and they could fall 10 points behind a rampant City with a third league defeat on the bounce at home.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's showdown.

Alisson Becker

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: February 7 (vs. Man City)

Alisson's torrid fortunes continued before the Brighton game as he was ruled out through illness. Klopp confirmed that his first-choice goalkeeper did not contract coronavirus, but it remains to be seen if he will recover in time to face City.

Sadio Mane

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 7 (vs. Man City)

Sadio Mane has now sat out the Reds' last two matches due to a muscular problem he sustained against Tottenham. The attacker missed out against Brighton and Klopp revealed that he did not train on the morning of the game, so he is doubtful for the weekend.

Fabinho

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 7 (vs. Man City)

Fabinho played no part against the Seagulls due to a muscle problem, but Klopp is optimistic that the Brazilian can return for this one in order to ease Liverpool's defensive crisis.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Joel Matip's injury-plagued campaign continued against Tottenham as he suffered a serious ankle ligament injury - one which will keep him sidelined for the rest of the season.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Naby Keita has remained in the treatment room since December's thrashing of Crystal Palace and was not ready to return against Brighton. Klopp has confirmed that the midfielder is getting "closer" to a comeback, but it is unlikely to be this weekend.

Diogo Jota

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 28 (vs. Sheffield United)

Diogo Jota continues to nurse a knee problem he suffered in the Champions League battle with FC Midtjylland, and the Portuguese winger is still a "couple of weeks" away from a return, according to Klopp.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Joe Gomez is the first of Liverpool's two long-term defensive absentees with the knee injury he suffered during England training, and whether he can play again this season remains to be seen.

Virgil van Dijk

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

There was initial optimism that Virgil van Dijk could make a rapid comeback from his ACL injury before the end of the campaign, but Klopp has now conceded that the Dutchman is not likely to play again this season.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no suspension concerns for the visit of City.
