How Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up against Liverpool

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up for Monday's Premier League clash with champions Liverpool at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that his side are dealing with some "new issues" on the injury front ahead of Monday night's meeting with champions Liverpool.

Nuno did not delve into any further depth about the situation or identify the players around whom those issues are, but the hosts will be without at least three players.

Nonetheless, there were positive updates on those absentees, with both Daniel Podence and Fernando Marcal edging "closer" to fitness without a timescale being put on their return.

Raul Jimenez is also making good progress in his recovery from his fractured skull, with the striker set to train alongside the Mexico squad during the international break later this month.

Regarding the players available to him now, Nuno is unlikely to make many changes to his side from the one which drew 0-0 with Aston Villa last time out, particularly in defence.

Willy Boly is pushing for a return but may have to be patient once again here, unless Nuno opts to push Leander Dendoncker or Romain Saiss further forward into midfield and replace the misfiring Willian Jose up front.

Fabio Silva appears to be first in line to replace Willian Jose, who is still searching for his first Wolves goal, although Nuno could also choose to deploy a similar tactic to the one he rolled out against Manchester City, when the pace of Adama Traore led the line.

It was the unlikely figure of Conor Coady who got Wolves' only goal of that game, and the Liverpool alumnus was also only denied a fine late winner against Aston Villa by a sharp Emiliano Martinez save last time out.

Coady has therefore now had a shot on target in each of his last two Premier League games, having not managed a single one in his first 101 Wolves outings in the competition.

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting lineup: Patricio; Dendoncker, Coady, Saiss; Semedo, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny; Neto, Silva, Traore
