Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's FA Cup clash with Everton.
By | 4d

Liverpool will look to kick off their FA Cup campaign in rampant fashion when they host Everton in the third round at Anfield on Sunday.

Despite encountering considerable success in the league and in Europe, Jurgen Klopp has never gone past the fourth round of this competition.

Everton, meanwhile, are enjoying a bounce in form following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti last month and will enter this clash with a fearless mindset.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this fixture.

Dejan Lovren

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Lovren has been sidelined for almost a month with another muscle problem in his thigh, with Klopp noting that there was no timescale on the defender's return.

Fabinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Fabinho was ruled out of the Christmas period with an ankle problem and it remains to be seen as to exactly when the player might return to action.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Matip is approaching a return from a knee injury sustained ahead of December but the meeting with Everton on Sunday comes too soon for the Cameroon international.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

The forward is being eased into a return to action after recovering from a thigh problem, with the game against Tottenham later this month serving as the most probable date for his re-entry into the Liverpool squad.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Having missed all of last season with injury, Oxlade-Chamberlain will hope to recover as soon as he can from ligament damage to his ankle sustained last month.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Klopp recently confirmed that, although the knock was not serious, Keita would not feature in this upcoming game due to another groin issue.

Rhian Brewster

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Klopp would have wanted to use Brewster in this game, but the talented youngster remains sidelined with an ankle problem sustained in the EFL Cup defeat to Aston Villa last month.

Nathaniel Clyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Clyne is Liverpool's only long-term absentee, with the full-back still recovering from a severe knee ligament problem sustained over pre-season.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no suspensions to worry about for this match.
