Andrew Robertson: 'Liverpool need to use any Champions League nerves positively'

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson calls on his Reds teammates to put any potential nerves to good use ahead of their Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson has insisted that his side need to use any lingering nerves to their advantage ahead of their Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Youngster Robertson has enjoyed a standout season both domestically and on the European stage for the Reds, leaving the 24-year-old as a nailed-on starter for Jurgen Klopp's side at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex in Kiev.

"It's all about how you use the nerves. You need to use them to your advantage. We've done that so far," said Robertson, according to the Daily Mail.

"[Against] Roma, we would have been nervous, [against] Man City - but we used it to our advantage. We used it to drive us on instead of shying away from the challenge. That's what we've got to do [against Real], from the first whistle you need to use the nerves and everything that comes with it in the right way.

"Hopefully if we can then we can put on a good show for ourselves, a good performance, and if we can then we believe we can get our hands on the trophy."

Robertson is playing in his debut season at Anfield, having joined Liverpool from Hull City in the summer of 2017.
