Leicester City 'still considering Rafael Benitez as their next manager'

By , Senior Reporter | 3d
A report claims that Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is still in contention to replace Claude Puel at Leicester City ahead of next season.

Leicester City reportedly still have Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez in their sights to replace Claude Puel at the end of the season.

Puel has come under increasing pressure in his first full campaign at the King Power Stadium, especially on the back of five losses in the Foxes' last six outings.

Benitez was linked with the position last month and, according to The Mirror, Leicester will consider appointing the Spaniard in the summer.

United have offered the former Real Madrid and Napoli manager a new contract, but he has yet to sign it and now has just four months to run on his existing deal.

David Wagner, who left Huddersfield Town by mutual consent last month, and Celtic's Brendan Rodgers have also been touted as potential successors to Puel.

Leicester are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening with a home match against Crystal Palace.
