David Beckham's Inter Miami are reportedly close to agreeing deals for defensive pair Ryan Shawcross and Kieran Gibbs.

The Herons, now managed by former England Women's head coach Phil Neville, are wasting no time to recruit new additions to their squad before the Major League Soccer season begins in April and have been scouting the English divisions for potential signings.

The Sun reports that a deal to bring Shawcross from Stoke City to Florida could be completed this week, while Gibbs is currently in talks with the MLS club to join from West Bromwich Albion.

Both defenders, who are aged over 30, would add a level of leadership and experience to a backline which currently has an average age of just 24.

Shawcross, who was a teenager in the Manchester United academy when Neville was in the senior side, has been hampered by injuries over the last few years which has seen him feature only 14 times for Stoke since 2019, making just seven appearances this season.

Gibbs, who spent 10 years at Arsenal before joining the Baggies in 2017, has struggled for regular game time this campaign, having made only 11 appearances in all competitions.
