How Denmark could line up against Tunisia

Denmark get their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign underway when they square off against Tunisia in Group D at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday.

Manager Kasper Hjulmand is unlikely to make any surprising calls on Tuesday, with veteran goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel starting between the sticks in what will be his 87th senior cap.

Having started just one of Denmark's six UEFA Nations League matches, AC Milan man Simon Kjaer could start from the bench, with the ever-present duo of Joachim Andersen and Barcelona's Andreas Christensen forming the centre-back pairing once again.

While Rasmus Kristensen and Joakim Maehle will push for the full-back roles, Christian Eriksen was involved in both goals as Manchester United claimed a slender 2-1 victory over Fulham in their final Premier League outing before the World Cup break and the 30-year-old will start in midfield.

Eriksen is only behind Schmeichel, Dennis Rommedahl and Kjaer in the nation's all-time appearance chart with 117 senior caps under his belt, while Thomas Delaney, who has racked up 71 appearances should also start at the centre of the park.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg played every minute of the Red and Whites' six matches in Group A1 of the Nations League and the Tottenham Hotspur man should complete the midfield trio.

Kasper Dolberg and Andreas Skov Olsen were both on target in the 2-0 victory over France last time out and we expect the duo to retain their starting roles on Tuesday.

Denmark possible starting lineup: Schmeichel; Wass, Andersen, Christensen, Maehle; Delaney, Eriksen, Emile Hojbjerg; Olsen, Dolberg, Damsgaard body check tags ::
