Eberechi Eze 'agrees new £100,000-per-week contract with Crystal Palace'

Eberechi Eze is set to extend his contract with Crystal Palace after reportedly agreeing a new £100,000-per-week deal with the Eagles.

Crystal Palace have reportedly reached an agreement in principle over a new contract with midfielder Ebereche Eze.

Talks over a new deal have been rumoured for a number of weeks now, and it appears that a breakthrough has been made.

Eze was one of the star men in the Palace side last season, finishing the campaign as the club's top scorer, finding the net on 10 occasions in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old recently surpassed the 100-appearance mark in the blue and red colours of Palace too, having joined from fellow London side Queen's Park Rangers in 2020.

His form at Palace has also garnered appreciation from England manager Gareth Southgate, who handed Eze his senior debut against Malta back in June.

Eze also featured in the friendly with Scotland during September's internationals, but injury meant that he was absent from the squad which sealed England's place at Euro 2024 last month.

Following a recent return from that injury, the Daily Mail claims there is more good news on the horizon for Palace, in that a deal is now in place for Eze to extend his contract with the club, and only formalities are to be completed.

A new deal is set to put off suitors such as Manchester City and Newcastle United, who have been rumoured to be interested in the England international recently.

Eze only has 18 months left on his current deal with the Eagles, but a new contract will strengthen Palace's hand in the transfer market should any clubs come calling.

As a reward for his performances, it is believed that Eze will earn around £100,000-per-week with this new contract.

It is currently undisclosed whether or not there is a release clause included in the deal though, but it is likely to see Eze stay at the club until the summer at least.

Eze made his comeback from the hamstring injury which kept him out for a month at Burnley over the weekend, and he could make his first start since the win over Manchester United on September 27 when Everton make the trip to Selhurst Park on Saturday.

In a 30-minute cameo off the bench, Eze assisted left-back Tyrick Mitchell for the game-clinching goal that earned Palace a 2-0 win at Turf Moor.

That was the second Premier League assist of the season for Eze, who also set up Joachim Andersen for the winner at Old Trafford. body check tags ::
