Report: Chelsea offer striker Alvaro Morata to Barcelona

A report claims that Barcelona rejected the opportunity to sign Alvaro Morata from Chelsea as they are more interested in giving youth a chance.

Barcelona were reportedly offered the chance to sign Alvaro Morata earlier this month but declined the opportunity.

The 26-year-old has started exactly half of the Blues' 22 Premier League matches this season and appears to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

Sevilla have been most strongly linked with the Spain international, but an agreement has been reached to sign Munir El Haddadi from Barcelona, meaning that a move for Morata appears to be off.

Mundo Deportivo suggests that Barca were another possible option for the ex-Real Madrid ace, only for the Spanish champions to reject the chance to discuss terms after mulling over the proposal presented to them by the player's agent.

Rather than add Morata to their squad, it is claimed that Ernesto Valverde will instead give some younger players a chance to shine.
