Inter Milan looking to snap up Jan Vertonghen from Tottenham Hotspur?

Inter Milan are reportedly keen to snap up three Belgium internationals on free transfers this summer, including Jan Vertonghen, Dries Mertens and Thomas Meunier.

Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Jan Vertonghen when his Tottenham Hotspur contract expires at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old is currently due to become a free agent on July 1, although Spurs are able to agree a short-term deal with him to extend his stay until the end of the coronavirus-affected 2019-20 campaign, whenever that may be.

Vertonghen's future beyond that remains shrouded in uncertainty, though, and Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter want to bring him to San Siro.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly set their sights on three Belgian players who will be available for free this summer, including Vertonghen, Napoli forward Dries Mertens and Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier.

Mertens has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea but is understood to prefer to stay in Serie A, while Spurs themselves are interested in Meunier.

Inter are reportedly hopeful that Romelu Lukaku could be key in convincing his compatriots to move to Milan as they look to build a side capable of winning the league for the first time since 2010.
