Chelsea have reportedly turned down a £25m bid from Crystal Palace for right-back Reece James.

James, who is yet to make his senior debut for Chelsea, enjoyed a promising 2018-19 campaign on loan at Wigan Athletic, making 45 league appearances.

Palace are on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back after Aaron Wan-Bissaka completed a £50m move to Manchester United last month.

According to The Independent, Palace have made a £25m bid for the 19-year-old but Chelsea are not willing to part ways with the teenager.

New manager Frank Lampard is determined to keep hold of his young talents this summer due to the club's transfer ban, which is in effect until June 2020.

Palace, who are also pursuing Gary Cahill, have lined up Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne as a potential alternative.
